Strange Bedfellows

Buffalo's former U-S Attorney Denise O'Donnell was the one who implemented Project Exile in Upstate New York in the late 1990's.

Last month, O'Donnell ended her campaign for New York State Attorney General, but is now working as a policy advisor for Elliott Spitzer in his campaign for Governor.

More Child Victims of Gun Violence

A pair of young brothers from Boyle Heights remained hospitalized Sunday with gunshot wounds...

Police on Sunday identified the alleged shooter as Mauricio Alejandro Jimenez, a native of Mexico and longtime member of the Boyle Heights-based Tiny Boys gang.

Jimenez, 26, has been arrested at least seven times in the past several years for a variety of weapons and gang-related charges — and was deported to Mexico just four months ago after serving more than a year in state prison.
Another account says:
Jimenez made his way back into the United States after being deported to Mexico upon his release from prison in March, after spending 15 months of a two year sentence for killing an apartment manager, said Eagleson.

Amnesty: The Anti-Spate

A nationwide gun amnesty is to be held in the autumn, it was confirmed today after a spate of shootings in Dublin left five people injured...A similar move in the United Kingdom in 2003 was seen as highly successful with the handing in of 43,908 guns and over 1 million rounds of ammunition, according to figures from the British Home Office.
I guess that all depends on what your definition of "highly successful" is.
