We're the Only Ones Snacking Enough

This village's only convenience store decided to do something nice for its police officers: give them a free fountain drink or coffee at closing time. But somewhere along the way, investigators say, it got out of control. Now, all three of the village's officers are accused of stealing snacks.

"It" got out of control?

Boy, patrolling sure works up an appetite, doesn't it? Glad to see they're still on the job.

We're the Only Ones "Let's Make a Deal" Enough

An Orange County sheriff's lieutenant accused of selling civilian guns from an evidence room he supervised has been offered a plea deal under which he would plead guilty to a misdemeanor and resign.

And what did Juvenal ask us?

Besides, does anyone doubt they couldn't get the same deal? Otherwise, that would mean "The Only Ones" are...uh...never mind...

Federal Flunkies

Ten years after Congress ordered federal agencies to have outside auditors review their books, neither the Defense Department nor the newer Department of Homeland Security has met even basic accounting requirements, leaving them vulnerable to waste, fraud and abuse.
Oooh...ooohhh...audit BATFU next...audit BATFU next...

Seriously, this is obscene. The same administration that's trying to destroy a family business over minor paperwork glitches like putting "Y" or "N" on a form instead of "Yes" or "No" doesn't have the needed controls in place to run a hotdog stand--and these are the "authorities" we look to to safeguard nothing less than the physical security of the nation--and the same authorities who bring the hammer down on "We the People" when some opt to assume responsibility for their own security.

The system is insane.

Matt Sedensky: Authorized Journalist

I just don't have time to deconstruct this right now, but will say Matt Sedensky is either totally ignorant of his subject matter, that is, incompetent, or a deliberate liar--meaning he's reached the pinnacle of his profession and is now a Master Authorized Journalist.

Besides, you don't need me to do this for you. How many lies can you find?

Thompson Speaks Against Gun Control

"I do not think that abrogating Second Amendment rights is a good idea," the Republican said at the Versailles restaurant in Little Havana.

That's great, Fred, and I agree. As a follow-up, I'd like to see you answer this question.

And I'd like to see gun owners take a moment to help get the question put to all the candidates.

Why "Authorized Journalists" are Better than Bloggers--A Continuing Saga

A former ABC News consultant fired last year because he couldn't authenticate academic credentials is at the center of a new dispute over apparently faked interviews with Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Bill Gates and others.
Good golly. And ABC News is generally so reliable.

Clayton Cramer to Appear at Red's

As I reported earlier we will be premiering David T. Hardy's Documentary In Search of the Second Amendment in Twin Falls. Hardy has spent 4 years working on this documentary and it is a must see.

On October 3rd, there will be a presentation before the film by historian Clayton Cramer, who is the author of the book Armed America and also appears in the film.

I hope Ryan has notified the local press to come down and cover this. If the attendance is not overflow/SRO, I'd sure like to know why not.

Is the gun store you patronize a leader in protecting the rights of the communities they serve, or merely a merchant? If the latter, have you and your shooting friends taken the time to approach and educate them on the real need for gun shops to supply freedom information as well as freedom tools?

Nothing will change unless we take it upon ourselves to change things. I hope that's not news to anybody.

This Day in History: September 15

In future, whenever the men are formed for action, the Serjeants are to be placed in the ranks, on the flanks of subdivisions, that the benefit of their fire may not be lost. The Brigadiers and Officers commanding regiments are also to post some good officers in the rear, to keep the men in order; and if in time of action, any man, who is not wounded, whether he has arms or not, turns his back upon the enemy, and attempts to run away, or to retreat before orders are given for it, those officers are instantly to put him to death. The man does not deserve to live, who basely flies, breaks his solemn engagements, and betrays his country.
