Hillary Rodham Clinton, locked in a fierce battle for Texas, said Monday that as president, she would not try to impose New York-like gun restrictions at the national level.Why does this remind me of the opening to "The War of the Worlds"?
Mrs. Clinton said in an interview with The Dallas Morning News that she would like to see bans on assault weapons and the end of loopholes that allow weapons to be sold at gun shows without required background checks.
"There can be a meeting of the minds between lawful gun owners and those who believe we can protect Second Amendment rights without giving in to the bad guys," she said.
Yet across the gulf of space, minds that are to our minds as ours are to those of the beasts that perish, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic, regarded this earth with envious eyes, and slowly and surely drew their plans against us.She's as creepy as any Martian. And she sure must think she's a lot smarter than us to presume to tell us what we can and cannot be trusted to own.

Gun grabbers remind me of car thieves. I expect a lot of car theives would be willing to compromise with you, and leave you your spare tire.
Oh, and David, I don't see McCain as any better.
There can be NO meeting of the minds if the other side has none. They operate on aspirations of complete control and hatred of those who oppose them and their views. As David has said via ID4, "they want us to die."
As for martians, she sure as hell sounds like the critters from war of the worlds when she gets going...ACK ACK ACK ACK!
There is nothing that my rotten biachio of a Senator would refrain from imposing on gun owners. She promised the people of New York State that she wouldn't use that Senate seat as a springboard for the Presidency. So, while upstate New York has been said to have been in a recession for the past twenty years, what is Senator Clinton busy doing? It ain't helping New York, and it is running for the Presidency.
