Jimmy Williamson, Chief Only One

It's only gonna be split seconds here, and I could see innocent people maybe being shot by the police.
Which police would those be, Jimmy? The ones hiding behind trees or the ones hiding behind cars? Seems to me over 30 of the Virgina Tech folks died hours after the boys in blue arrived. And we know how much help the professionals were at Columbine.

You're in plain clothes--why wouldn't cops shoot you in an off-campus situation where you weren't known? After all--you're carrying. But I forget--you're one of those trained "Only Ones" I've documented time and again who are just so much damn better than the rest of us at everything. Yeah, I guess I could see your guys making a bad situation worse.

So in your genius mind, you think police "maybe" shooting trumps an assailant "definitely" doing so?

But if figures. While suspending the real Bill of Rights, which in and of itself makes you a criminal, the best you can give us is a "victim's bill of rights"? It doesn't occur to you that you're helping create victims?

Or maybe it does, and that's the way you want it.

"Many of the students carrying a gun may not have any idea how to use one."

Now, why did you have to go and say that? Oh yeah, I forgot, you need to instill fear into those that don't know that this is just another LIE!

Is there any state with CCW permits that does not require training? He could have said, truthfully, that there are police that have no idea how to use a gun. Some departments don't require training right away.

I know a border patrol agent that only has to "qualify". I encouraged him to get real training.

Also, "Chief Only One", it would not be split seconds because of two things.

First, most likely when it becomes known that there might be people here that are willing to shoot back, psycho-guy will most likely choose another location. Some place safe...like a mall?

Second, if psycho-guy decides to make this shcool his target, most likely he would be the target long before the second responders get there. Remember, six minutes in Illinois? Will there be armed people to end the madness before the six minutes are over.

That is all.

Yes, Washington. We also have a relatively high rate of CCW issuance, and as few problems with permit-holders as anyone else, so despite the fact that the lack of a training requirement might not seem like a good idea, in practice it hasn't caused any harm.

In such a scenario, I think burden of proof is upon those who want the state to have more laws, regulations, and requirements, not the other way around--but that's just me.

Or, if you want a shorter version: "Who knew that the average citizen could be responsible???"

Just another jackass with an undeservedly high opinion of himself that he got by use of an undeservedly low opinion of everybody else.

I don't call cops, never have. Been in some tight spots, didn't need a bunch of chickenshit amateurs with no brains mucking things up. I have seen only one situation which the arrival of the cops didn't worsen the problem or supply new and unnecessary ones. I am deep into my seventh decade, so I say to Mr. Williamson,"you guys have a lousy record. Go away we don't need you. If you go away, everyone will become aware of that fact in short order".
