I Wonder Why...

"Many Americans are indifferent to or cynical about the virtues that our country claims," his excerpts said.
Yeah, I guess when you have your eyes open and all you see are false alternatives, people tend to get that way, senator.

"He graduated fifth from the bottom of his class."

Speaks volumes, doesn't it? Then he compares himself to/against his Admiral pop and grand pop?

And he reached whar Rank? at least his relatives were honorable men for their times!

What a fool! As well as anyone who believes a word he says!

Kind of ironic that a man who sponsored a bill that makes it a crime to discuss candidates during an election cycle bemoans the cynicism he added to greatly.

What a dip!

We had a saying in law school:

The A's were the Professors
The B's were the Judges
The C's were the litigators
and the D's were still lawyers.

McCain, I will not vote for you. Period. I will not sacrifice my moral character to vote for someone such as yourself.

In your link to your earlier piece, David, Carol Quigley said that the two parties should be nearly identical so Americans can "throw the rascals out" without causing a major shift in policy.

Did she miss the whole point of "throwing the rascals out"? Wouldn't we throw them out BECAUSE WE WANT a major shift in policy?

Another thing I notice is, we gun owners simply are not represented in this election. It appears that the Repulicans have decided that we are disposable. They're not even trying to lie to us anymore. We have been cast aside.

First, it's "he."

The point being, we may do so thinking we're going to get that major shift but never will because the game is rigged. Thus Bush never dismantles federal programs but expands them, "anti-war" dems elected to congress don't defund it, etc.

They skirt around supposed differences but in the long term, the march is toward government control, whether R or D.

And when you do get someone proposing truly major change--particularly if it looks like he is getting notice and support--the knives come out. Which explains the need to discredit a Ron Paul, for example.
