The Great Clearfield County Bean Can Bust

A Clearfield County man who gave undercover federal agents explicit instructions on how to make what he called “bean can grenades” has been arrested on weapons charges.
"Possible militia activity..."

I really have no idea what this is about, but do offer some hip shots:

There seems to be no shortage of informants and provocateurs. That's just a fact.

It appears safer to make examples out of people like these than to plant someone who wants to go home at the end of the day in one of these groups...plus, you still get the headlines and a handy demon to exploit.

I see. Exercising First (speech, assembly) and Second (keeping and bearing arms) Amendment rights in unapproved and perhaps even imprudent ways is now a crime. Check.

Tell me, children, what do you learn from this silly man's misfortune?

Here's a few:

a. New "friends" often aren't your friend.

b. "Exploding golfballs" . . . Exploding GOLFBALLS?!?

c. The laws are so vague that they can "prove" evil intent for anything.

d. "Three people can keep a secret if two of them are dead." -- An old Sicilian expression.

There's more off the cuff, but let's wait for more info before we get into that.

Had he told them how tying a rock onto the legs of someone can result in death would he have been charged with murder?
