The Grimm and Evil Show

Fred Grimm thinks agents of the state should be "The Only Ones" to possess "guns designed to kill enemy soldiers."

Talk about evil.

How nice for you, Fred. Here, put this in and go quiver in a corner, will you? There's a dear...

Warner Todd Huston took the time to do some point-by-point deconstruction of Grimm's screed.

They're ramping up the rhetoric now and the volume later. Later, they'll involve as many of our neighbors as possible in trying to coerce us into registration, turn-ins, and neighbors squealing on each other as to who's got the arsenal. A man will feel mighty small when the whole block turns on him. This is how they will try to make it work. Whether it does or not depends on how much intestinal fortitude each of us has.

My AR has been with me longer than my wife. I'm keeping it, and it's nobody's business.
Designed to WOUND enemy soldiers, actually. Dead guys can wait until after the battle, but it takes two healthy soldiers to move one wounded one out of harm's way, stop the bleeding, administer pain meds, etc. so that's three fewer opponents with one shot. Next best thing to a BFG 9000.
Of course a well-placed shot WILL kill.
An "assault weapon" is what you need in built-up areas when you're outnumbered by criminals or agents of tyranny. It is a MILITIA rifle. WE are the militia. All of us. That's why a true semi-auto ban is when I start flying the skull and crossbones.

I'm working on a plan for the bans/confiscations crowd. It's based on a work of fiction by Mike Vanderboegh.

You know what I mean. The Thugs are coming.

This is what I sent to Brother Grimm:

What's a few million dead gun owners to the collectivists of the disarmament lobby?

FRED GRIMM of the Miami Herald (fgrimm@MiamiHerald.com) asks, "What's a few dead cops to the gun lobby?" And concludes his anti-firearm fairy tale with the phrase "the mythical right of private citizens to own semiautomatic military assault rifles."

My dear Brother Grimm. Let me explain about "mythical". You should be careful what you wish for, lest you get it. I don't think you're quite prepared for how a grim a brave new world that an attempt to institute the government monopoly of force would be. Forget the Founders and what they intended with the Second Amendment, Brother Grimm. Forget all of our history, law and even forget plain common sense. Indeed, if the Constitution and the rule of law no longer applies to American gun owners, then it really is all about force, isn't it? And you forget one thing: we're the people with the tools and the will to overturn your tyrannical applecart. And that's no myth. Here's the deal. You want our "semiautomatic military 'assault' rifles"? You're going to have to kill us to get them -- probably something like 3 million of us. And we, being gentlemen and gentle ladies, will be forced to return the favor. This is the bloody tradeoff once you get your wish and whatever regime you persuade starts killing us.

Unfortunately for you, in that awful possibility we intend to make that more than a one-to-one ratio. And, unlike you, we have thought through the unintended consequences of your proposed actions. Remember, my Grimm anti-gun fabulist, that Bill Clinton relaxed the rules of war in the Ninties to make the news media of his then-enemies, the Serbs, a legitimate target of war because, he said, they supported the Serbian war effort. So, should get what you seek, you may live to regret it. Or not. But hey, what's a few million dead gun owners to you collectivists of the disarmament lobby? Oh, and one more thing, here's a phrase you might seek to have translated from the original Greek: "Molon Labe". Have a nice day. ;-)

Eloquent, Mike, and to the point. No point any longer in arguing history, precendent and intent. They debate what the meaning of "is" is.
We're a mirror image of most countries. There, journalists who call for freedom are detained and murdered by the government. They literally die to try for what we have, and OUR media invite the Beast to dinner.
They think spouting the government line buys them favor. Sometimes owners have their lapdogs put down just because they're tired of them.
