Illinois Town Bans Air Conditioners

But just the deadly "junk" ones.

What are they going to do if people start dying? Can you imagine your elderly mother on a fixed income living in a unit, and the fat cat Village Aesthetic Nazis (from their taxcow-funded air-conditioned chambers) set the cops on her for trying to survive a killer heat wave?

Aren't we glad that government is intended to secure the blessings of liberty? It looks like there will be an "amnesty" for a while before the $500 fine goes into effect, but truthfully, the unintended consequences of enforcement might yield a positive result as well.

The more people getting their oxen gored, the less alone we will be in saying "Enough." Problem is, not too many realize that all freedoms are related.

Still: Squeeze, baby, squeeze.

My county is THIS close to saying people can't park their cars in their yards because it "degrades the neighborhood's appearance." It must be THE COUNTY'S yard, then.
It's everywhere. But that, at least, is not a health hazard and risk of death like THIS edict.
When payback comes, the tyrants are going to wonder "What did *I* do?" But they know because they've been told, and told, and told.

When it is OK to tell others who are harming no one but themselves how they are to live, this is where it leads. Until we say "No more! As long as you are harming no innocent person, you are free to live your life however you see fit!" this will continue to get worse.

Not at my house. I took my last step back more than 15 years ago. No more understanding their position, no more benefit of the doubt, no more compromise, no more seeing their side of it, no more giving up another goddamned thing without a fight, no more obeying laws I know are wrong, no more submission to authority unless I deem it appropriate.

They had their turn. They fucked it up for everybody. My turn, I am and will remain free, until death, even if that is the price.
