Time to Shut Up and Put Your Keyboard Away

But the OpenCarry movement is a mystery to me. What kind of psychology - overcompensation, paranoia, antisocial personality - is behind that thinking?
Rebecca Walsh will now demonstrate the proper technique for dealing with this guy.

She must know how to, right? Otherwise, her ridiculing the bearing of arms would be irresponsible, negligent. People allowing themselves to be influenced by her opinions might get killed.

Salt Lake Police Chief Chris Burbank sounds like quite the piece of statist work himself.

How would you know it's not a plain clothes LEO, chief? Why would you assume a free man or woman who is not threatening anybody needs to have one of your "Only Ones" "point a gun at them and go through the process [of elimination]?"

If you can't do the damn job, quit.

As a caveat, I'm no fan of open carry. I've done it in wilderness areas, but prefer carrying concealed for a number of tactical reasons. Still, I see the value of open carry for normalizing people's reactions, and respect gun owners who make that choice. I will absolutely do what I can to stop them being harassed--just because some sheep and wolves can't stand the sight of free men and women going about their lives in confidence.

They're not responsible for your reaction, Rebecca, which tells us much more about your deficiencies than you think you've told us about theirs.

I would very much like to see Ms. Walsh's response to the same demands for justification that she poses on the 2nd Amendment when placed on the 1st Amendment. After all, how can she justify making such demands on owners of firearms and stand mute on the exercise of other rights? Surely she can justify her need to speak her mind!

There's another Walsh who fears and hates our gun rights. John Walsh, whose son Adam was abducted and murdered. "America's Most Wanted" Walsh. Walsh said he got no help from authorities finding his son in 1981, but now they're the only ones who should be armed? If the bad man had snatched Adam out of Walsh's HANDS instead of his yard, what would be the best way to save Adam, I wonder. It doesn't involve a phone or a TV show.
Any relation?
The chief says if you want to carry a gun get a permit to carry concealed? Of course; HE WANTS YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS where you keep your guns. And your fingerprints, photo, description of marks, scars, tattoos...
They mention some recent mass murders and attempts. Seems to me those start out with the weapon concealed (WITHOUT a permit) under clothing or in a duffel bag or something, or already in hand. Will the police draw down on everyone walking with a stiff knee because they might have a shotgun down their pants leg?

"I love a woman in a bikini -- no concealed weapons." -Christopher Lee, "The Man with the Golden Gun"
Speedos for everyone!
Ewww.

The laws should not, must not, be made with the few who break them in mind, but with thought toward how misapplication of them will harm the innocent.

While weenies like this are worried about our PERMITTED handguns, visible or concealed, Mara Salvatrucha, the Salvadoran mafia, is robbing and killing people in cities in the heart of North Carolina as well as many other states. A "cross border drug ring" was the subject of federal raids in Greensboro and Charlotte.
Remember the NC man with a concealed carry permit arrested in Fairfax, Va for having hollowpoints and carrying a loaded gun across state lines, neither of which is a crime?
Yeah, I'd much rather face HIM than clean out the 'hood, too. I have my pension to think of, as in living to collect it.
