Dumb and Dumber

"It's not a dumb rule."

See, the way you deal with this is publicly identify this moron.

Name him.

Give contact information for where he works.

Then publicly shame the stupid, authoritarian SOB. Make ruthless fun of him.

I don't think it would take too many examples.

But I dream. We've named some already, and in far worse cases.

It's getting to where people have no hope for "official" redress. Eat it and like it. Obey or be destroyed.

And there's nothing we can do about it.

Right?

See, they're going to obey and enforce every other dumb rule they're given, too. Logic doesn't even enter into it. People will get sick because their medicine is in a too-large bottle and gets discarded. Some will die. But as long as our surrogate masters follow THE RULES, "no violation of regulations or policies" will ever taint their employment record.
Hi, TSA agent "Chris" someone (neat idea, covering your last name with another ID card) and someone Winterthaler at Richmond International in Virginia. Look, you're famous. Again! Our friend the 71-year-old veteran with the knee replacement who you made get out of his wheelchair and walk through the metal detectors says hi too. His knee hardly bothered him on his dream vacation because of it. Only when he used it. The director of TSA says you're doing a great job. One day you'll be on the other side of the cattle rope and the scanner arch. A civilian. Maybe Officer Urbino from Metro Washington will be on duty. Don't look "wrong."
On second thought, do.
