"Nothing Was Lacking"

Mall marketing director Bob Jenkins said nothing was lacking the day the bullets flew inside the mall. Police were on the scene in minutes, and surveillance cameras captured the shooting and footage of the suspect.

Of course something was lacking, Bob. And that you don't know what it was shows something lacking in you.

This illustrates what I think of as the "acceptable losses" mindset behind gun control measures and relying on police protection. "Police were on the scene in minutes," so if the shooter had set out to cause casualties only a few people would have been killed or injured. What more could you ask for?

In his way, marketing director Jenkins is more honest than most of our political opponents for being this straightforward.
