Glad to see the "Only One" "remains on the force." That way, if one of us does the same thing, he can arrest us, probably on several charges. But take heart: Internal Affairs is looking into whether any department policies were violated.

Good thing I didn't find "Ossifer Only One's" gun. He'd have lost it for good.
I wonder how many of the lost guns are never turned in by the finders? I'm of crotalus' mindset on that. I need to recover a little of the cost of government from them, and that would be an exceptionally good way to do it.
you know it's funny; to expound on the previous comment, if a gunnie found the firearm several things might happen.
First: the weapon would be rendered harmless in the hands on someone that could drop the mag and rack the slide. Simple, no?
Second: the firearm may or may not have been turned into LEOs but in any case would be no threat to society.
Third: I would be more comforted knowing that a peaceable citizen owned the firearm than an agent of law enforcement; draw from that statement whatever conclusions whatever you will.

We taxpayers across the nation are paying for this carelessness with firearms. To bad the officers didn't have to pay for there own sidearm - from the approved list - just like citizens do. We don't "forget our sidearms" cause we paid for them.
Well..... I will admit to losing a gun once on a cross-country move... in hostile territory. And it STILL hurts.
