What's in a Name?

A name can reflect a state of mind or an ideology. Take, for instance, Gunslinger in Oak Lawn, Ill., or Ready On The Right in Kailua, Hawaii. Or you might choose to convey the threat implicit in the merchandise, with a name such as Ready Aim Fire in Bristol, Pa., or Smoking Barrels Guns in Lutz, Fla.
Or we could just do things your way and set up local chapters of Slaves-Я-Us, you smug, historically-ignorant idiot.

"80 percent of the homicides in the District being caused by guns"

Why is it that I've never heard of a case where a gun was convicted of homicide? Do 80% of the homicides in DC go without convictions? You don't suppose that those crimes were actually committed by criminals... who happened to select a firearm as a tool while committing those crimes... No, couldn't be. It's the gun's fault.

What inanimate object committed the other 20% of murders? Knives? Clubs? Sticks? I suppose once we've banned firearms, we'll have to go after these other objects. That's what England is doing now, I see. Guns are already banned, murder rate is still rising, so we'll ban knives.

You know, there are far more people killed each year in automobile accidents than by firearms. Why is it that we are banning guns, when the automobile is so much more of a threat? Of course, cars are useful for things other than killing people. I suppose, in your view, guns are not. You know, of all the guns in my safe, my vehicle, and my holster, not one has ever killed a person, or an animal, for that matter. Must be dysfunctional.

Thanks for laying out your hoplophobic point of view for us so clearly.

I'm born, raised, and live in the Oak Lawn, Illinois area.

Somebody tell me where "Gunslingers, Ltd." is today. When are they open?

Oh, you mean they no longer exist? Nah, can't be. The antis would never cite something that doesn't exist.

If I recall correctly. The Gunslinger of Oaklawn Il
Lost its FFL for straw deals.

I guess he slung just a bit too much.

Last time i checked homicide was "illegal", until heller handguns were "illegal" in DC. Yet 80% of the homicides in an area that has a dispropotionatly high murder rate, were comitted with guns? Yeah legislation makes the problem better. Some people are beyond help, and should seek Dr. Kevorkian(sp)

"In a culture that loves the faceoff, the showdown, the high-noon drama --at home and abroad -- there is no reason that D.C. residents should be denied such an essential tool for conflict resolution." -stupid journalist

The only thing he said that made sense, though I suspect he wasn't aware of it.

Here is my email to the jackass:

Titled: Tools make men do stupid things, re: killer idea for selling guns in DC

I do believe you to be so mentally deficient that you would be a "prohibited" person. And I revel in that!

Guns caused those homicides? Are you reailly at the mercy of your inanimate tools? How many people have you claw hammered to death? How many people have you barbecued on your grill and eaten? How often have you slashed your wife's face open with your keys?

Don't tell me you haven't done these things, because you have stated unequivocally that inanimate objects cause horrendous behavior("Come to think of it, with 80 percent of the homicides in the District being caused by guns, you might even be able to franchise that one."- Malloy). I assume that is your excuse for your behavior. Isn't is just easier to blame some thing than it is to take a stand against the evil that men do on their own hook? That would require courage, real physical courage and you have shown that you have not even intellectual courage, which is the easiest kind.

I will apologize for the above, because I just realized that your word processor has relegated you to idiocy, it wasn't your own lack of intelligence or character or cogent thought. You were just controlled by the tool. I expect to hear your call for banning word processors, computers, and printing presses, and their accouterments and extensions, they certainly made you support evil, criminalality, and just plain stupidity. We just can't have people running around pushing the machinations of machines, as you have done. You having been victimized into criminal behavior by your communications tools and your grill and claw hammer should certainly see the need for ridding society of these insidious tools.

Disrespectfully,
