Blackhawk Up

Hundreds of law enforcement officers using a Blackhawk helicopter fanned across South Florida today to hunt for the gunman accused of killing a customs agent in broad daylight during an argument in a post office parking lot.
Not to minimize the very real agony and loss surviving family is feeling, but do you think such resources would be employed for one of us?

He should have just gone into the post office. It's a gun-free zone.

Law enFORCErs also borrow military assets to locate marijuana patches. When an elderly or mentally disabled person is missing, generally an appeal for volunteers using their own resources goes out.
Strange priorities.

When it's a gov't thug--er, official that gets gunned down, we see a military response. And we still think that Mike's letter was extreme?

That must be some helicopter to carry that many people.

"Customs agent".... let's see, he makes his living by enforcing extortion from people trying to do business or bring home souvenirs. Hmmmm. Sounds like a parasitic thug to me. Didn't they used to call people like this "pirates" or "highwaymen"?

Check the Constitution on this one guys but aren't Imports and exports allowed to be taxed with tariffs?

Oh and any bets on the nationality of the killer and his legal status in America?

Good thing I don't get my moral compass from the Constitution since it is wrong on some areas. Taxation is still theft and is still wrong no matter how many "laws" are passed to permit it. Slavery was once "legal" as well, remember?

Yes the Constitution is wrong in some areas, just that in this case is it a Constitutional postion - Customs Agent?

The man who has been arrrested in the killing is James Patrick Wonder according the article below:

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/broward/sfl-flbagent0807pnaug07,0,6453842.story

Read the article, and then look at the pictures of both Special Agent Donald Pettit here:

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/broward/sfl-aaaaaapettit_donalug20080806044334,0,2485654.photo

And now look at James Patrick Wonder here:

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/broward/sfl-suspect06a20080806193704,0,4784028.photo

Pay close attention to the following from the article:

"The report said Wonder, 65, pulled into the Pembroke Pines post office first from Dykes Road. It said Pettit then pulled into the post office parking lot from Pines Boulevard."

AND:

Wonder "was late to his appointment, rushing to his appointment, he was late for his dialysis," Segarra said.

Now, just how afraid for his life do you think was Florida CHL holder James Patrick Wonder was?

Further, I also suggest you go and read the related post by Michael Mayo, a staff columnist of the Sun Sentinel, that is titled:
