But this is the only time I've ever seen guns on the street, which makes me wonder what the idea really is...along with why Kalamazoo authorities are acting like a bunch of damned Chinese communists.

That isn't MY idea at all. A universally armed population is my idea.
What are the chances of getting John MacNeill off the streets?
Take a gun off the street. By all means, put it into a nice warm holster, and give it a couple of spare magazines to hang around with.
