A Cutting Edge Proposal

Politicians in the city of Worcester, Massachusetts -- Wormtown, to those of us who attended college there and ruined our hearing listening to punk bands at Ralph's -- propose to ban the possession in public of knives with blades longer than 1.5 inches.
Because--you know--we can't be trusted but they can. Or something.

I do have to give District 3 Councilor Paul P. Clancy Jr some credit, though. How anyone could make the kinds of moronic public statements he has and not be laughed and pointed at every time he appears in public is a pretty neat trick. It's almost like his constituents are more ridiculously ignorant than he is.

Sounds like a good reason to buy a kitchen knife of "effective proportions" and carry it with you, still in its packaging. "I just bought this and was on my way home with it, Officer Rapely."

politicians will be safe either way, crime with knives will continue, or crime with other objects will rise.

Job security for the insane.

The good news is MOST people commenting see this for what it is, BS that will do nothing to reduce crime.
