An extensive search of available news sources did not turn up any hint of verification of this story.
Either it never happened, or it was never reported.
If McCain himself is not declaring such at his rallies, it likely didn't happen. I would not trust the MSM to report it if it DID happen, though.
Neither McCain nor Palin were on the bus when the event occurred, the bus is merely making the rounds handing out information & bumperstickers.
Did the shooter(s)know this?
The story is slowly gaining traction on Blogs, if the reporter would post some pics of the damage it might force the MSM to address it.
But it does not fit the narrative.
