"capture keywords and phrases related to"...related to whatever item, behavior, political bent, product, or THOUGHT we wish to track in REAL TIME. Pre-crime is beyond beta testing, and is rolling out worldwide. More reason to abandon Google for less intrusive venues, until as expected all will be required to tie in to TIA, or its current equivalent. Good luck.

A bit more on this from the Cryptogon site:

Noosphereoogle Detects Flu Outbreaks Faster Than CDC

One alternative might be an encrypted proxy search like Scroogle SSL.

Google does a fine job in many regards - but it is deeply woven into many websites, etc.. An example - when a website places a Google search bar on site - Google loads or serves the images that comprise the search bar - so Google logs each request to an IP address and referrer. Blogger is (iirc) a Google product - and recently someone suggested to me that Facebook and Gmail are somehow linked under the Google brand. None of the above examples are about actual Google search results either - they're just more fingers Google has into these 'intertubes'.
