Maxwell's Silver Hammer

A memorabilia collector has been jailed for five years for possessing a Second World War rifle listed as a prohibited firearm. The rifle was not in a condition to fire live ammunition...

Judge Maxwell said Parliamentary guidance meant strong sentences should be given for illegal firearms possession. “I feel bound to impose the minimum sentence of five years,” he added.
Bang bang, Maxwell's wooden gavel
Came down upon his head...

You should feel bound, all right, you fascist functionary, you coward.

What do you expect when judges are paid by the state. We need a separation of court and state. As it is, judges should only be paid when they rule against the state.

David, I gotta say that your fixation on that device is a bit spooky.

AJ--exploiting Beatles lyrics to make a play on words is a spooky fixation? I have fun goofing off with language all the time--even if I'm generally the only one who knows I'm doing it.

You want to see a spooky fixation, look at the type of monster who would put a citizen away for 5 years over this and then make excuses for it.
