A Nation of Consumers

A Wal-Mart worker died after being trampled when hundreds of shoppers smashed through the doors of a Long Island store Friday morning, police and witnesses said.
You have to wonder about the values--and value--of a society where this happens.

It's an indisputable fact that we are in a cycle of DEvolution as individual human beings and Western Civilization in general.

In the case of the American experiment, we regressed from a nation of citizens, among whom even the poorest could read and write, and who had a basic grasp of liberty and rights, to a sorry herd of feral consumers who would trample pregnant women to save a few blood-soaked bucks on some Asian-manufactured tchotchke.

When Americans show more willingness to kill or be killed to save a few measly bucks over some baubles, than they would to assert and protect their inalienable rights, it is f-ing OVER.

Think what these muppets will be willing to do, to feed their corpulent complacent selves, when they and their obese off-spring haven't eaten in a few days.

Stock up on provisions and hoard metals - gold, silver, brass and lead.

As I drove to my inlaws to celebrate Thanksgiving, we saw a bunch of people setting up tenths to wait in line for the Thanksgiving sales. What a way to spend the day we should be sharing with family and those we love. It is sad to see so many Americans capitulate to the evils of consumerism.

David: I apologize for the salty language, but my rage spills over at the upside down values and priorities of a not insignificant proportion of the population.
And plus one on what Declan said...

More tales of of greed and covetous insanity
As I commented above: If this is how they behave when Xboxes are at stake, just think how pissed and aggressive they will be when the supermarkets have been gutted and they haven't eaten solid food in a few days.

Ah, how happy New World Order elitists must be upon hearing that. A nation consumed by the cult of materialism, a nation so easy to enslave and manipulate.
