A Fight is a Fight is a Fight

What I do not understand is how so many American gun owners -- including many who engage in combat-simulation training with their pistols, rifles, or both -- can and do fully adopt Colonel Cooper's color codes for encounters with street miscreants, but then completely lose that focus when the predators carry neither a knife or a gun, but the reins of executive, legislative, and judicial power.
A-yup.

It's the same reason 9 out of 10 American men are not fit for the U.S. Infantry. Either physically, or mentally, they can't cut it. 9 out of 10 females, ditto. Most of it is mental. Getting in the frame of mind to kill someone, is an insurmountable obstacle for most people. Until they do it. It's that old,"what if they shoot back?" thing. Violence, unless you learn it, and control it, scares the bejabbers out of most everyone. Combat, in the sense of self-defense, pro-active, or re-active, is controlled mayhem, with the always present possibility of getting completely out of control. And the one thing everyone wants is to not get shot.To engage in mortal combat, you have to have a total disregard for the others life, and a willingness to disregard your own. Two very big hurdles, which a lot of people see as too big. Being called chicken is a lot less painfull than a .45cal slug in the guts. Do you risk the pain, or the shame? Which is why so many baaaaahs and cluck-clucks are being heard. Me? I'm sick of this runnin crap. III.

Sean,
Here, here. I love life as well. But I'll take a slug or whatever if need be.

Enough already! No more!

Oh? It seems some people are waking up to the fact that "gun owners" may be counted among those that stand in the way of liberty. Imagine them speaking out, with a correct understanding of the law and their place within the republic.

We're getting there!
