When Irish Lies are Piling

Glock, the gangster's favourite gun, to be banned from Ireland next year...

There are currently 1,900 legally held handguns, up from a handful in 2004.
And what does one have to do with the other?
The Minister understands there is no connection between gangland crime and legally held handguns. But he is concerned about the proliferation of handguns in society.
Oh, I see. You can get away with disarming the peaceable citizens. Gangsters might fire back.

I'd suggest maybe the citizens might do the same, but that would hardly be pra...naaah, I don't want to start a fight.

Right you are, David, you don't want to get into an argument with the prags, because you just can't win. That's because, with the prags, there's no win, and no loss. Just another debate. Which is what they do. Talk. What really burns their butter, David, is that you sound like a man, and they hate that, since they'll probably never be one, and you don't fit their definition of what a man is. They think a man is one who compromises, debates, goes along to get along, and above all, never says what he means. Let alone anything definite. They don't hate us because we're free, they hate us because we've got our balls and they never had them in the first place.

Wait a flippin' minute; this nation of about 4mm has a total of 2000 'legally' owned s/a pistols? And these must be removed to assure, what? The Irish have truly lost their brass!

Really think the IRA surrendered all their guns?

The Irish are an interesting case study.

During the Anglo-Irish war (1916-1921) The IRA armed its men through both black market purchases (Most notably Germany in 1915/1916) and through raiding the English armouries. They operated on what we would consider to be ridiculously low levels of ammunition and minimal weaponry, yet they won.
