Freedom from War

I haven't written much about State Department Publication 7277, and correspondent Oliver B asks me to . He also asks me to bring Public Law 87-297 to the attention of WarOnGuns visitors.

I've had a hard copy of "Freedom from War" for over a decade now, and probably ought to talk about it more. I guess the reason I haven't is because I figure blue helmets on American soil mean we're past the writing stage, and the only way to keep it from happening is to focus on more immediate domestic threats.

Unfortunately, efforts to ensure public hostility and ridicule for "conspiracy theories" have been pretty successful--to the point that one of the most authoritative sources for information about the globalist agenda, The New American, has been marginalized even in the RKBA community due to bias against and outright contempt and derision for "Birchers."

I suspect if most of us put down our preconceived notions and looked for ourselves, we'd find more common ground than we might expect. But it's always easier to take someone else's word for it that they are somehow disreputable, kooky and hateful.

I've found them to be quite the opposite. But then again, you'll find no shortage of those who think the same of beliefs expressed here.

Some Help Here?

Perhaps someone can assist with the following exchange?

Email from "CH":

A friend of mine and I are having a debate about SWAT teams.

I believe they are almost completely unnecessary. He disagrees.

The sticking point about this is whether SWAT teams, or even the normal police, take fire from houses they serve warrants at. I've only been able to find one news story on Google that references the death of a SWAT officer, from LAPD (only fatality on their SWAT team in the 41 years it's been in existence according to the article.

Are my research skills merely poor or is being in SWAT as safe as I think it is? I am hoping you are more connected than I am about this stuff and have more information available to you.
My reply:

I'm not aware of anyone who has compiled the SWAT-exclusive statistics you are looking for and presented it in a paper for peer review--particularly with context of what prompted the raid. You are correct about the LAPD fatality being a singular event.

You get a fair overview of deployments here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4803570.stm

But you also get different pictures depending on whether you consult Radley Balko or the NTOA, who offer the self-serving assertion that use of overwhelming force decreases the chance of fatalities because people don't dare resist. So their official position actually appears to support yours, that they don't encounter that much return fire--but it's almost a chicken and egg proposition.

Tell you what--let me do a post on this on WoG. I'll keep your name confidential and repro this exchange, and then ask people to offer insights on where we can find this info.
Anybody?

If It's Any Consolation

If It's Any Consolation, I Am Going To Shoot Myself After I Kill All Of You
True, The Onion is a satire site. But I thought they were supposed to be funny.

If it's any consolation, I don't think this will inspire too many who mistake it for a real editorial to disarm.

We're the Only Ones Killing Two Birds With One Stone Enough

Howard County police today named the two teens who were shot and wounded by a police officer yesterday. The teens were injured by a shot apparently fired accidentally by a Howard County police officer during an investigation of suspected drug activity in a Jessup neighborhood, police said....

Police did not release the name of the officer involved in the shooting, because he is undercover...
...and we aim to keep it that way, because, well, we're "The Only Ones."

Hasn't This Been Tried Already?

After more than 25 years of holding onto his IDF-issued gun, Moshe Grosberg was surprised to learn from the head of security in Ofra, the Samarian settlement where he lives, that he had to give it up.

"I haven't killed anyone with the weapon," said Grosberg, who notes that he lives close to Palestinian areas and needs the gun for protection when he walks or drives outside of the community.

Still, like 50 others in Ofra, he handed in his gun last week.

That was a mistake. I'd have reported it lost or stolen.

Disarming Jewish civilians. Now there's an idea. And this time, it's being done by their own people.

So much for "Never again."

The fools.

Matters So Petty

Several days ago, I documented that the establishment media has virtually ignored new revelations of radical government behavior (the implementation of a torture regime at the highest levels of government, the suspension of the Fourth Amendment inside the U.S., patent falsehoods about the 9/11 attacks and surveillance laws from the Attorney General) while devoting extreme amounts of attention to matters so petty and juvenile that they defy derision (e.g., Barack Obama's bowling prowess and eating habits, gossip about Hillary and Monica Lewinsky, etc.).
Well, uh, yeah.

That's why they're "Authorized Journalists."

But if it's any consolation, they don't feel appreciated.

Guns and Indoctrination Don't Mix

Less than a day before the March 15 district round of the decades-old N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission competition, one of East Wake's principals, with the support of the area superintendent who oversees that school, stopped the team from participating.

The reason: Ammo and students don't mix, the school officials said.

...That request drew the attention of Danny Barnes, area superintendent, and Sebastian Shipp, one of four principals at East Wake, and prompted them to review the status of Lumley's marksmanship team. This led to East Wake not being allowed to compete because of district policy.
Ah, yes, East Wake High. "The Home of the Warriors."

And let's not forget Wake Superintendent Del Burns. You can also tell him what you think here.

Good grief. Well, what else would we expect from a school that focuses a good part of its curriculum on "global studies"?

Read the whole story--including what outstanding kids these are, and the inane opinion of the stupid gun control goose. This goes beyond outrage.

They are denying a heritage of freedom. They are molding the thralls of tomorrow. They may be deluded or this may be premeditated subversion, but make no mistake: they do great evil here.

Let's hope there is legal recourse and it's pursued, although, in truth, these things are generally resolved at the expense of the tax cows. In a perfect world, the liability would fall squarely on the subversive decision-makers. I'd also want their jobs--these effete nincompoops have no business teaching anyone how to grow into a responsible adult.

Parents who care should also be nailing down members of the school board, finding where they stand, and dispensing reward or revenge when they run for reelection.

The "Duh" Moment

And here's the "duh" moment: "Two-thirds of all ... U.S. murders," he claims, "were accomplished with firearms."

'Nuff said.
That's funny. I don't see what fraction of the murders took place in urban areas where the lawful keeping and bearing of firearms is restricted.

Maybe if they could tell us what fraction of the victims brandished a gun in response to an attack, or returned fire, we could draw some conclusions that would lead us to another "'duh' moment," particularly if such instances were rare.

'Nuff said?

We're the Only Ones Blown Away Enough

A former Edgewater police officer has been sentenced to probation for making a woman perform oral sex on him in exchange for not taking her to jail.

That's what happens when the "Only Ones" with authority have been conditioned to view the people as inferiors to be commanded, that is, as property to dispose of as they will. And if we are to accept that she truly only had two choices, who is to say she did not make the pragmatic one?

And naturally they gave him probation. The in-your-face elitism never fails to blow my...uh...mind.

This Day in History: April 10

When I was in Annapolis you were kind enough to promise me fifty stand of arms...I shall be able, I am in hopes, to get thirty or forty blankets, and hope you will spare me as many as you can. I am very anxious to get to my station. Pots and camp-kettles please to send me at the same time; hats you also promised me; and cloth, if you have any to spare, as many of my people are very bare of clothes, and begin to grumble about not having them. In our present situation, it is impossible to keep the company all together...
