This could very well be how things will play out. A number of things come into play when viewing this issue. First off, I don't believe there will be just a magazine ban. That would cause a fight that would waste a lot of time and not really have much effect. Will the ban outlaw 20 to 40 round magazines is something to wonder. Or will it outlaw the sale of them by anyone but to the military and LE. It would be really something to think that people would become felons for havine a 30 round magazine.
Passing more gun laws will be non-productive and will force people to choose sides. There can be very bad new guns laws which in this day and age will cause some real problems.
However if the democrats do push for a new AWB. Believe me it will give the GOP something to pull the troops back together. If that happens you can bet people will never trust democrats again.
Never mind trusting democrats or republicans, neither are trustworthy.
The really serious betrayal is being done by those who claim to be on our side.
I think I know why the NRA is silent on the Holder nomination. They are too busy helping write the new AWB and passing talking points to our "pragmatists" such as Sebastian about why this is a good thing.
I admit I could be wrong and just speaking from bitterness residual since the last few times they have done just that.
One of those often-mentioned "lines in the sand" is the edge of a cliff, with sharp rocks and hungry sharks far below. Only cartoon characters can run back up. Some of our enemies are cartoon-ISH, but...
I hope they take a running, flying leap this time. I'm tired of "Is there a law enforcement-only warning under the mag-pull tape on THIS 30-rounder?" Right now, it's legal. Obama signs a piece of paper, and it's a felony -- again, like under the Klintonian Empire. What the hell. Brian Puckett said if they said we could keep this or that by tying a pink ribbon on the barrel, stores would sell out of ribbon the same day. "Just wear this yellow Star of David and the police won't bother you." No more games for me. Shall not be infringed. They said what they meant and meant what they said. Including Liberty or Death. Obey all the laws -- and madhouse regulations made extralegally by ATF and the Attorney General -- and you will be left unmolested -- for a while. If your mindset is gun ownership and liberty, or just liberty, eventually they WILL get around to you. The fate of the UNORTHODOX in a socialist society is never pretty.
Those of you under 30: Take two identical AR-15/M16 30-round magazines. At one time not so long ago, the one made before midnight on a certain day was legal to possess. The next day's production was stamped "MILITARY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT USE ONLY." It was identical to magazine A in every other respect, but magazine B would get you sent to jail. It
