Only ones... David, don't even get me started! I've enjoyed reading these for a long time because as the son of a (now retired) LEO, I know that they're only people. Not saying anything bad about them at all here, but they're not magical or anything. Dad's on our side and always has been. The only reason he thinks I shouldn't have a machinegun is that it's too expensive.
About the officer in the story - Overturn that verdict NOW! Let's see how many of the rules of safe firearms handling he broke... Muzzle not in a safe direction, transferring a loaded firearm (especially under the circumstances - drop the mag and clear the freaking chamber!!!), and I'd pay money to hear him say that it was something else in his pants other than his finger that pulled the trigger.
