Vanderboegh and the Monsignor

Mike takes a break from finishing "Absolved" to chide a wayward defeatist.

This is my fault. I know he should be working on the book, but I begged him to take a break and say some things as only he can. [More]

i gathered somewhat less of a defeatist and somewhat more of an unhinged paranoiac, but, to each his own.

The monsignor has little concept of at what point of provocation we would start and on whom, if our government(s) at any level get Waco/N.O. Syndrome again. There won't be TIME to deploy those military willing to slay their countrymen. You can't "only follow orders" if no one's around to give them. Lists exist. It would be tragic if they ever had to be used. But then, the world is full of tragedy, every day, most of it planned and created by such people.
Elsewhere nearby we see politicians in SWITZERLAND with a solution in search of a problem. Gun control and invasion of privacy to enforce it in one of the most gun-saturated and low-crime countries in the world. Becaue they can, and because people in other nations behave badly, with or withhout legal access to guns. Like our own politicians, they insist on insulting and handicapping the people who make it safe for them to vocalize their differing opinions.
The U.S. will certainly be the last holdout for liberty. And we WILL hold out.
