We're the Only Ones Second Responder Enough

It all started after a burglar alarm at the car dealership on East Napoleon. An employee arrived ahead of police and went inside to check the business. He had a flashlight and a gun. When police saw the employee inside they thought he was an armed burglar and fired shots, while the employee thought he was being fired at by a burglar. [More]
Naturally, the chief defends his guy for firing the first shots.

I guess it beats admitting to "Only One" training deficiencies. But it make me wonder how plain clothes officers can react during violent crimes with any degree of confidence that their greatest danger won't be "friendly fire". Then again, noting the marksmanship, perhaps I worry too much.

Ah well--failing to kill him, at least they arrested the poor sap who returned fire...

Why arrest the employee for defending his property?

The police did everything wrong.

Including, don't go into your own proprty. Bad advice. Do NOT depend on the police. Depend on yourself.

Lawsuit!

"It's a miracle no one was killed or injured last night at Billy Navarre Chevrolet in Sulphur."

No. The miracle would be the police actually hitting what they were aiming at. Safest place to be is directly in front of these incompetent dolts when it hits the fan.

A buddy of mine lost his sister who worked at a bank just north of San Diego. Some bank robbers had the robbery turn bad on them and took his sister hostage. The police got the robber trapped in a dead end without any place to go. So the cops opened up on the car killing his sister in the process. She was dressed up in a woman's business suit and clearly had a name tag on and wearing high heals. She took a number of hits and in fact more than the bank robber who was not using her as cover.
Of course all police were cleared and acted as they should have.
Gets better: Same police force. Had a guy holed up in his home over who BS petty warrant. Not going to court for speeding or jaywalking something very petty. So they send the revenue goons out to arrest him. He tells they to F off through the door that he will not open. They go to bust in, he locks and loads so they can hear it. They tuck tail and hide while more goons show up. He takes a shot when the place is crawling with goons. He gets one and the bullet goes under the vest and kills one. More goons come and they are tripping over their own feet. The guy has a SWAT type outfit on and slips out the back door unnoticed. As he's going down the street a goon puts 2 and 2 together and shoots the guy in the leg. Blowing his knee out. He throws his semi auto rifle away from him. The partner of the dead goon comes running up and aims at the guy's head and put a round into him. This is on live TV for everyone to see. The DA's office agreed the gun misfired and it wasn't the goons fault.
Bottom line: There is pretty much no such thing as a goon misusing their firearm.

Reminds me of an officer I worked with back in the 70s.

This guy shot an air compressor in an alley one night while looking for a possible burglary entry. He shot a store manikin in a dressing room one night while checking the store for a burglary suspect. He even shot his own reflection in a mirror once. That was sorta funny until everybody realized his reflection was wearing a police uniform.

I actively succeeded in not working too close to him. This guy was a trained, educated, competent, LEO. Oh, yas!

I suppose I'm just a contrary fuck, but what is so tragic about the cops not getting killed? I am deadly serious about this. What is so fucking tragic?

Was the employee in less serious danger from these stupid condom leaks than he would have been if he had found the burglar? I don't think so! The burglar couldn't have called backup, nor could he have been given a pass by the chief. Nor would have the mutual masturbation society been stroking the shooters " rods" emissions as totally justified.

Am I the only one that suspects an unhealthy sexuality between the cops, their guns and their supervision?

If so, the rest of you are waaaaaay behind. Uh oh! shouldn't have said "behind", I can hear all those nightsticks being drawn from their scabbards now.

I'm telling you all now, that there is more wrong here than just bullies with immunity. It is a psycho-sexual dysfunction masquerading as acceptable policy.
