If We Can't Trust ATF Under Oath, When Can We Trust Them?

"Let me say that when we testify in court, we testify that the data base is 100 percent accurate. That's what we testify to, and we will always testify to that. As you probably well know, that may not be 100 percent true." [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column explores the issues of BATFU truthfulness and records accuracy. It includes a copy of a related incident report document you probably haven't seen before.

Also in today's post: An alert from Oregon and links to the latest from my fellow GREs.

Please tell a friend. And then enjoy your Easter weekend. I'm taking off until Monday.

David,
Is it still too early to "shoot the bastards" as Claire Wolfe would say?

Happy Easter.

1934 would not have been too early.
Never wrong. Godlike omniscience. And once in a while, God apparently decides to eliminate a species so another can better fill its niche. Natural selection, divine will, intelligent design, whatever you want to call it, our Overseers are claiming that power for themselves.
Hubris. What does Greek mythology tell us about hubris?
Happy Easter, friends of freedom.

"F" the batfu. Their mission is unconstitutional on it's face.

No suprise that weak, bullying cowards would lie (cheat, steal, kill) to achieve their aims - these bastards are "unfamiliar" with the constitution and do not understand it. These goons would be more at home in the stassi, the gestapo or some other "community organizing group" and are right at home and on page with obummer.

The BATF and similar goons are just the JBTs that have existed in one form or another since the first 'clan chief' enforced his will on the rest of the group. You will NEVER be rid of them, they are like fleas and cockroaches. If you really want to make a point where it matters, you will have to change your focus and make the rule-MAKERS feel the pain. They don't give a rats-sphincter how many JBTs are lost in the battle. They will just use the JBTs losses for propaganda purposes while sipping their wine and issuing more power grabbing orders. Start THINKING guys, instead of just reacting.

Have a great Easter weekend, David (and to all). We've had so much going on here (housing crisis, layoff, and 4-month-old) that we've hardly had time to think straight, but even the sorry state of the world is no match for a grinning 4-month-old girl in an Easter dress. We'll take the time when we can get it!

Just heard Gresham's show on guns which also addresses gun's rights issue. I don't own a gun but highly respect gun owners and the aspect of hunting. I was talking to some hunters about how much cleaner and healthier hunted meat is. I could not believe the news I heard on the various policies.

I have to say, (semi) respectfully, that I do not respect non gun owners.

Here is a message for you non gun owners - when it finally gets to the point that the public can't get guns and REALLY wishes they had them - DON'T come to me.

My guns and ammo will be for people that prepared and did not sit back doing nothing while our rights were stolen.

I would give / sell guns and ammo to someone who needed an additional gun before I would sell one gun or cartrige to someone who depended on the government to protect them - let the government protect you.

You silly non gun owners can stand in front and provide cover for those of us prepared to shoot back.

You decided not to prepare? Bummer. I'll trade you the deed to your house for one gun and a hundred rounds.

Sorry. If you want guns and ammo in the future - BUY THEM NOW!!!!!
or forever seal your childrens fate.

And why so hostile... I never grew up with a gun owner..I have shot guns before and not a bad shot...just simply too busy...know enough personal friends that have guns. Also, Elisha did have access to bear arms..I suggest you go read Isaiah 8 and think about what is really wrong with America

Added,..guns ownership should indeed be a right...but please your identity must be broader to not make comments AGAINST those who just so happen don't have one. Don't feed the polarization please..

A reasonably intelligent man I know asked me if I had anything in 9mm. How much? Two boxes, a case?
He was talking about a pistol. One he could have and keep if/when they move on all those Form 4473s they've been "auditing." He thinks if he gives them the one that's de-facto "registered," they'll go away.
And they will. But they'll be back with metal detectors, wrecking bars and gun-oil-sniffing dogs. You won't recognize your house when they're done. This is how the Germans did it.
Saw a poll somewhere. 60% of Brits could not identify the words Auschwitz, Bergen-Belsen, Treblinka as Nazi death camps.
Explains a lot, doesn't it?
Hey, we want all our grandfathers back, and alive, please.

Sunday will be the anniversary of the immolation of women and children along with "dissidents" at the Mt. Carmel church and community near Waco, Texas. The ATF THOUGHT they had an unregistered machine gun and raided the place. There was none. Where was their perfection then?
I've never understood why the NAACP and the Council of La Raza didn't do something drastic, seeing as how 1/3 of the Branch Davidians were black and 1/3 were Hispanic. Propaganda can convince people that people JUST LIKE THEM are somehow too different... to live.
My dream is that when the order goes out, some brave officer will use the reverse-911 phone system to warn the targeted neighborhoods.
And yes, you are entirely correct that THEY are willing to lose grunts until they run out and have to recruit more. They'll get them, too. It's a secure job, right? Even if you die, your family gets your benefits.
Know your police chief. Know your mayor. If you're reading this, they probably already know you, in some way.
And the guy who wants a
"secret" gun in case a criminal breaks in after everyone's supposedly disarmed? Felon-to-be. If you're going to be a felon anyway.... Neighbors will be more ready than ever to report gunshots. There will be questions he won't like. Why in the name of God let it go that far?

Remember, ATF agents are probably patroling YOUR streets along with the real cops to interdict "illegal guns."
YOUR gun wil be "illegal" soon.
