"Ban It Any Way You Can"

Kemp had likewise abandoned his long pro-RKBA record in 1993, saying during an appearance on NBC's Meet the Press, "Ban it any way you can," in response to host Tim Russert's question about his views on the "assault weapons" law. [More]
With all the "conservative" paeans I see being sent around, we need to keep some essential realities in mind.

From another source:
On Meet the Press (3/7/93), Kemp said, "I believe in the constitutional right to own guns. But you don't need . . . assault weapons like AK47 submachine guns or Uzis to be a hunter or a legitimate sportsman. Ban it any way you can." [Source: Martin Schram, "Kemp Takes Gun Position," 1993 Newspaper Enterprise Association, 7 April 1993.]

Only proves he knew little or thought the views did when talking about very serous Constitutional issues.
These people kind of remind me of Slick Willy when he said a BJ wasn't sex. The twisting of truth and word smithing our Constitution is done by traders and non other.

Yet another example of 2 politicians that viewed RKBA as a mere bargaining chip used for grandstanding publicity (I am sure that Libby Dole was the evil influence behind the flip-flop on firearms by these two)...They will not be missed from the political scene, the fewer of these, the better...

He's on record as stating he was a "progressive republican"

Remember HilBill Klinton's big "I'm a progressive" answer from the debates?

1+1=2

Did they go to some sort of seminar that told them to equate the 2nd Amendment with hunting and sports every time the topic comes up? It's the same song and dance from every one of them
