Why is it every time we see a terrorist plot foiled all of the "equipment" was supplied by the FBI?

the president doesn't protect the american people. congressmen don't protect the american people. the military doesn't protect the american people. law enforcement doesn't protect the american people. each and every one of them protects the rights of the american people, and they do this and only this by honoring their oath to the constitution of the united states, and in no other manner.
you can't simultaneously call yourself any of these things AND be in violation of your oath just because you're still on the payroll. in fact, if you are, you're stealing from the public.
but wait, there's more! not only can chuck not be consistent with the government he represents, he can't be consistent with himself!

I read a small blurb about this in my local paper this morning. No mention of where the suspects were from, or that they were Moslems.
In fact, it kinda read like the suspects WERE from the DHS hit list.
@AA - for the same reason the defendants always claim the FBI's informant was the one who pushed for violent action.
The FBI is clearly taking pages out of the DEA playbook. Except the FBI uses illegal immigrants instead of drug felons to infiltrate groups. You pay off a desperate enough person, they'll do anything, or say anything to make the operation look successful and grant citizenship or freedom. We can judge the merit of these techniques empirically by examining the history of drug informants.
This is not advancing the protection of the United States, just positive publicity from busting non-funded radicals. Thank God our government is still selling these guys inert explosives, hopefully the feds won't (again?) fund a real terrorist attack to advance national agendas.
Well the DHS can hardly come right out and say that the profile of the "terrorist" you're most likely to encounter is "some harmless and not very bright sucker set up by the FBI to scare the gullible and justify their funding."

I too would be more impressed with these busts if these wannabe "terrorist" poltroons (I recall a similar "plot" with similar poltroons which supposedly "targeted" the Sears Tower in Chicago) had shown the ability to so much as tie their own shoelaces without an undercover fed to talk them through it... and to provide them the damned shoes in the first place.
These aren't 'domestic homegrown terrorists.' They are muslims with a muslim mindset imported from the totally foreign koran. This nomenclature is being used so they can (try to) round up US citizens who disagree w/them.

Five Muslim community workers have accused MI5 of waging a campaign of blackmail and harassment in an attempt to recruit them as informants.
The men claim they were given a choice of working for the Security Service or face detention and harassment in the UK and overseas.
They have made official complaints to the police, to the body which oversees the work of the Security Service and to their local MP Frank Dobson. Now they have decided to speak publicly about their experiences in the hope that publicity will stop similar tactics being used in the future.

People who have been around a while will notice that these "muslim terrorist plots" they FBI is "uncovering" are identical to the "militia plots" they were "uncovering" in the 1990s. The only thing that's changed is the alleged ideology of their phony terrorists.
