Gone with a Whimper

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish. [More]
Truth from Pravda? It's like I told Kurt Hofmann in an email the other day, "It's like somewhere in my life someone switched planets on me when I wasn't looking."

This one is quickly making the rounds thanks to Drudge, and a lot of you have sent it to me. I raise a flag of caution.

While I agree with the sentiment expressed, I think it needs to be filtered through healthy skepticism about the messenger and his motives. And we must never forget that not all of us fall under this indictment.

Switched planets, LOL! Now that's funny.
Frankly, I believe its all based on two things, government schools and mass media. The people have been dumbed down and are feed lies day in day out. Some even believe the food has been doctored/poisoned to damage the DNA of citizens to lower their IQ's. A reach for sure but seeing what I have to date will not allow me to dismiss such ideas.
Once the folks have been dumb down and find themselves locked in front of the idiot box and shoving processed foods down. Its at the stage of the game of the American Indians losing everything they own for some beads, blankets and alcohol.

Looks like the child of the Washington Post and the National Enquirer.
I agree that the watchdogs have instead been licking the burglars' hands and showing them where the good silver was hidden, in exchange for a steak. But every trial looks dire, a foregone conclusion... before the other side presents its case. I think the Silent Majority is finding its voice. It's certainly finding its need for gun ownership, at last. That means choices are important.

i read this a month ago (thanks to an LRC blogger), but, it was entertaining. it's very funny to see pravda confirming the weakness of character i run into day to day, even when i go shooting.

they obviously haven't done their homework thoroughly, and much of the same things could be said about russia, but it's nonetheless mostly true.

really any country still afraid to properly secede until, at least, there is a population/governance balance that suits its various cultures and interests, will eventually come to this. it can only be beneficial to separate politically what is already separate philosophically.

Pravda is doing what it can to survive. Just like our domestic media, if there's a shred of truth or an ounce of backbone, the source is usually a blogger.

The two major national daily newparers are "Pravda" and "Izvestiya".
"Pravda" is Russian for "Truth".
"Izvestiya" is Russian for "News".
Russians wags would say that there was no "news" in the "Truth", and no "truth" in the "News".

I am surprised this was on Pravda as well.

Isn't it ironic that while Pravda is talking about the dumbing down of American people, the newspaper continues to dumb down it's own readers with nonstop sidebar pictures of naked women and sleezy models.

Pravda...another rag that was on my ignore list, along with NYTimes.
