A Message of Wisdom

Teeth, that is.

Not mine, eldest feral son Uday's.

I'm taking him in to have all four removed.

No fun. There will be pain.

I'm not expecting to post any more today, or to get to many emails.

UPDATE:

Success. Home recuperating. The kid's fine, too.

Uday, what a cool name for the oldest son. Where do you come up with such cool names for your kids, Is there a special book you use?

Saddam's sociopathic violent sons.

It's my gag, as my guys are really both good young men.

"Feral sons Uday and Qusay" is my way of talking about my kids on occasion without using their real first names, and injecting a bit of humor. They didn't ask to have their names made public and the last name is rare enough without homing in on them further.

My poor nephew has the same name as I do, which I hope the world does not penalize him for, as does one other guy I see on Google from time to time. He must curse my existence.

There is a definite price to pay for not engaging in this subject anonymously. I do what I can to make sure the price is mine to pay alone.

My sympathys to Uday, I know what he's going through. Seriously. When I was a kid my orthodontist used my pictures as his 'before and after' advertising to show to other kids parents.

Oh man!

All four at once? I thought two at once was bad (done many, many, years ago)

My sympathy's

I had mine out in one shot, too. (I also removed my front teeth in one "shot" as well, but that's a different story.) Perhaps you would pass along my advice that recovery goes much quicker if one cleans his room, does his homework, and on the otherwise routine occasion that he is diligently recording his father's commands for prompt execution, that he include "Sir" before and after every sentence.

That might explain why my recovery was so slow ;-)

Hope this advice isn't arriving too late but have him sleep sitting up if possible.

I've heard that if you sleep flat after blood will run down your gullet causing a really nasty upchuck.

I never tested this rumor after having any of mine out but even sitting up I left a spot on what I used as a pillow.

I had all four of mine removed at once. It wasn't fun for the next week, but at least it was over.
