Claiming Luggage While Transporting Guns Can Put Travelers at Risk

[S]ay something compels you to claim your luggage at a layover airport: perhaps your flight was rerouted, or perhaps there was a delay and they're going to shuttle you to a hotel or an alternate terminal... Don't assume it's safe to claim your suitcase. That could put you in a world of hurt. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at another way gun owners trying to obey conflicting laws are entrapped and persecuted. Also, meet a village idiot, airdrop an "Only One," and get a guide to educate your favorite "Authorized Journalist"--assuming they're interested in actually knowing something about guns, as opposed to counting on reader ignorance that assumes they do.

Tell a friend? Seriously?

Have you read the latest from all the Gun Rights Examiners?

Thanks for the plug, David. FYI, the link did not chase properly for me, the first time. It seemed to do fine the second time. I did notice the URL you used:

http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-8434-Anchorage-Libertarian-Examiner~y2009m7d29-Learn-from-the-experts

has one extra path level than when I navigate from my "list" page:

http://www.examiner.com/x-8434-Anchorage-Libertarian-Examiner~y2009m7d29-Learn-from-the-experts

Do you ever run into little glitches like that?

I did have "fun" doing that one. Makes me realize I haven't dug into matters technical in a goodly while.

Keep up the great work. It's good to see more and more quality writing emerging as things get dumber and dumber.

Interesting--that's the url we get to from the Reporting Tool--I copied that url from a comment you left here yesterday in the "Lions and Tigers" post. My guess is, you got to your page from the View Live utility in the reporting tool, which adds the extra "examiner" in the url, and then coded it into your comment here.

I think it has something to do with not crediting us with a page view hit when we're just checking to see how a column displays to the public--get thousands of Examiners and it adds up. Anyway, I went back into today's GRE column and changed it--per EpiCenter, it can take up to an hour for the change to display.

Ah, that's a good point about the page hits. I'll be sure to paste links as someone else would see it.

Thanks!

I've often wondered what would happen if somebody were legally flying between Alaska and the 48, with maybe an AK and a couple of handguns legally checked as baggage, and the plane had to divert to Whitehorse with a mechanical problem...
