A Rational Response

“Everybody I know — 75 percent of all my friends — we’re all carrying weapons now, everywhere we go,” Cody Sossaman, 57, publisher of the Gaffney Ledger, said early Monday...

Daddy Joe’s bar patrons included women who were packing pistols in their purses for the first time in their lives.

“I’m telling you what — people are just scared to death!” said Kim Blanton, 49, a fourth-grade teacher who had a loaded .32-caliber pistol in her purse. No, she said, she doesn’t have a permit to carry a concealed weapon — and she doesn’t care...

Yes, Smiley said, she keeps a gun close these days. “I haven’t even gone to the bathroom without it”... [More]
Quick--somebody tell the Bradys--to go...uh...do something to themselves.

lol. Yep, love this blog. Ah yes, ya see, there's good news and "gooder" news:

Good News: They caught, shot and killed the illusive serial killer in Cherokee Country...

More Good News: President Obama, "Foot-in-Mouth-Smiley-Joe" Biden, and AG Eric Holder ... whom have been recently named "..the best gun salesmen!," EVER!, http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/stories/070709dnmetnobullets.3d7693a.html. Well, they also just learned of another 'propaganda squasher': "Real Life."
Damn! this is gonna cause MORE ppl to be "clinging to their Guns and Religion". An actual real life, local imminent threat to remind you: Oh, right! There really ARE good reasons you might want (need) to own a Gun, or at least want preserve your Second Amendment Rights (just in case, of course). In the case of Cherokee County, (I'm betting..) just one elusive serial killer may have done the trick...

From Trevor Anderson, <@ http://www.goupstate.com>
Gun sales surged as many sought protection from killer

"Residents of Cherokee County and surrounding areas flocked to local gun shops and bought up firearms and ammunition amid worries about a suspected serial killer who was shot to death by police officers early Monday morning. The buyers were heeding the advice of Cherokee County Sheriff Bill Blanton, who urged residents to exercise their right to bear arms during a news conference Friday." ..More...

LOL. Boy, I gotta say, this week, I would love to give CeaseFire or the Brady-Tards a pocket-full of ca$h (and petitions) to go down to Cherokee County with their 'peace signs' -n- "stop the violence" signs, and delusional-misinformation-campaign trifolds, talking about how in order to stop the violence, we need to "...Get all these Guns off the Street" ... Of Course, they'd have to get give me $1 back for every blank line on the Petition for "More Gun Control" ..

YEA-HAAH, Ah, Naa, No, NOT - I had to drop Sarah Brady a link to the story, with a note of friendly recommendation that perhaps the Brady Campaign might want to scratched off Cherokee County for the "No-handgun campaign" road show visits. Definitely gonna need to let this "Hot Bed" cool down a while...

I think what you mean to say is: Sarah, Barry, Frank, Chuckie - go fuck yourselves.

That pretty much hit the high notes?

I can't really get up the energy to get scared, myself, so I'll just settle for my usual "look of concern/boredom/ennui."

I heard that the police didn't solve it, an alert citizen notified them.
A gun in the hand is worth 150 cops on the phone.

Alert Citizen, I believe that, how do you think 97% of all criminals are caught? Too bad it was an "alert citizen" with a gun, aye?

Notice in this story that even with the "heads up" phone call stating that a vehicle matching one used in the previous killings was at a known vacant house, and questioning of the group in the vehicle, the purported serial killer still got the first shot in?

Did Barney Fife need a minute to put the bullet in his gun?

I just have to wonder how many of those now armed people were anti-gun prior to fearing for their own lives. My bet? More than half of them.

Funny how someone's perspective changes when it is his/her ass on the line, and how superior they feel to prior to that to all of us who already had the proper perspective on it.

I bet also, that they will never admit they had been wrong, just that we were right "too soon".

StraightForward - I'm convinced your right...hence my first post. At admitting the err of their ways...forget it! Its very unamerican. There is a famous quote somewhere, goes something like this... "We are deceived en masse, but enlightened one at a time."
