We're the Only Ones Who SHOULD Have These Things

"The bottom line is people simply should not have these things and that's why we have laws against them." [More]
So does that mean that, unlike Soylent Green, "Only Ones" aren't people?

And I wonder what Mr. Coxe would have to say about this?

"Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their sword, and every otherterrible instrument of the soldier, are the birthright of an American...the unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of the fderal or state governments, but where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people." T.C.

Unfortunately, it looks like too many of us have "sold our birthright for a mess of pottage."

Interesting comment thread accompanying that article: Even in liberal Seattle, most of the respondents thought the defendant got far too harsh a sentence, and thought that justice would have been better served by, at most, just scolding the old man and sending the weapons to a museum.

Several commenters pointed out that the defendant got more jail time than several notorious local murderers. And there's a lot of pro-RKBA sentiment there as well.

One commenter observed that the truly stupid person in this story was the guy who bought the contents of the storage locker and then notified police of what he had...

Gotta wonder how many of those "disappeared" before getting to that table.

Are you not amazed by the comments of the prosecutor?

"Prosecutors asked for a 63-month sentence this morning. Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Woods said in court papers that Struve's arsenal "to say the least, was capable of inflicting deadly force on a devastating scale."

What if there had been an earthquake or a fire, Woods wondered. What if the person who bought the locker's contents at auction had been a little rougher when moving all the boxes home? What if a criminal had broken in and stolen the stuff?

"The scope of the arsenal in this case was simply breathtaking," Woods said. "Quite simply, this was one of the largest arsenals for one person in this region's history.""

He has a problem with a private citizen owning this stuff but not the government? WTF? Any of his idiotic "what if" scenarios can happen any day of the week at any police station, Army, Navy, Air Force or National Guard base. these "people" are simply too stupid for words.

never listen to people who what-if their way through life, and always catch yourself when you do, to separate reason from rationalization.

"a little rougher." well, firing pins strike at thousands of PSI. so, shut up. that's what.

We the people have just been effectively told by this judge that we are no longer the soveriegn of our nation.

You know for sure that tyranny reigns when a person can be thrown in prison for merely owning pieces of metal and for not having caused the slightest harm to any person or property .

However, by the mere ownership of all these tools, implements - still, pieces of metal - this poor old man has been deemed to cause harm to the State's self-claimed monopoly on destructive firepower. And we can't have that can we?

All the so-called judge's "what if" statements are deceptions and diversions.
What she made quite obvious - but did not plainly say - is that ownership of weapons by non-State sanctioned individuals are to be considered a threat to the State - and given the "right" excuse - will be made an example of.

So the only actual crime here was committed by the government. The government was the only one to use violence in the news story. Land of the coward, home of the slave.

so (asking a question) what if a whole lotta folks start saying FU to the law and building/buying/finding these kinds of things?

We you throw all the folks doing the work in jail? The ones paying the bills? Gun them down in the streets like the animals you believe us to be?

just how far would/COULD they take it?
