Springfield Mall Story Update

I have removed the story about the Springfield Mall because The Washington Post issued an update claiming the "victim" stabbed himself and has been charged with filing a false police report.

Nevertheless, I stand by the principles of self-defense articulated in that article. [More]

You know, I don't think when I lived there that the mall had a no weapons policy. I remember checking with VCDL at the time, and Springfield was not on the list. What happened?

Of course, if they changed ownership and changed policy, that could explain the recent spate of violence. Criminals always pick the weakest targets to go after.

It's always been on their website code of conduct, but they don't post the doors for some reason. Probably to allow resonable CC inside but having a written policy somewhere to back them up when needed. I'm no fan of this mall:
