i, Genius

While talking with an Apple Store employee, he allegedly said, "I'm so mad, I could pop a 9mm at it," meaning the iPhone.

According to police, he then said, "I'll do it right now! Look!" and pulled his shirt aside to show the employee the handgun he was carrying. [More]
If true, the guys a damned moron and he's lucky somebody didn't pull out their own gun.

But then, the mall has a "no guns" policy, and we all know how effective those are...

The very last thing that would occur to me is to jerk that pistol and go to work. What the hell is an iPhone? It's a ,,, yeah I see,,,,no, really?,,,,,,,,WTF. This guy does not need a CHL, he needs an straightjacket.

I agree with the strait jacket. Why the Hell would you shoot a phone when you have a vehicle with which to run over it?

Trust me on this one, very effective. Don't ask.

Gosh, with the price of ammo... one would think a well placed boot would do the job.

The thing to remember is that this incident - utterly stupid as this guy is - would probably have been no more than a sick joke if the clerk (or whoever) had not called the cops.

There is no real indication in the story that they guy was actually planning on drawing the gun. Which all goes to show that even utter morons like this are not apt to mow down shoppers in an iPhone store.
