Yo Rodenspiel - the gun can't "discharge" unless somebody pulls the trigger! That would be YOU, stupid.
And WE all know exactly what would happen to us if WE had such an "accident."
Didn't Olafson get several years for just loaning a rifle to someone, that did the burp-gun-boogie(3 shots) and then jammed? And the rifle didn't even hurt anyone, just the ATFs feelings, that they might not be in CONTROL. Aww, forget anything I might rant about, all we're ever going to do is talk anyway.
I'm no more of a fan of the undocumented unpublished 'official policy' standard for police versus the law everyone else than you are, David, but this seems clean to me. If someone tries to ram me with a car, then I would think I'm in the clear to shoot him. That it happened accidentally certainly indicates some negigence and need for training on firearms safety, but if the guy didn't obey an order to stop trying to run over police officers he would have been shot on purpose anyway. Why in the hell he needs an MP5 to deal with two people when he's got at least 3 police with him is another question. Especially the question of why he gets an MP5 when he has demonstrated lack of safe handling whereas I am barred from even the possibility of owning one even if I jumped through hoops to show my proficiency.
Adam, according to this, the negligent (at best) shooting happened after the ramming was over.
