We're the Only Ones Invasive Enough

An Indiana state trooper is facing criminal charges after he allegedly broke into a Lansing home and attacked a homeowner, police said.

State Trooper Elton D. Jones, 28, of Valparaiso, faces armed robbery, home invasion and weapons charges in connection with the Sunday night burglary. [More]
He's with the ISP? Well, hell, why didn't the homeowners just vomit, surrender or scream? [Oops. Imagine that--making a mistake!]

It does make me wonder if we shouldn't treat everyone bursting through our doors equally, even if they're "Only Ones." I also wonder how many stories like this you'd have to compile to convince a jury that you had genuine reason to fear for your life--just so you don't also get subjected to the Cory Maye experience.

"!="???
For the non-computer programmers out there, that means "not equal to".
