I spoke once with an Iowa cop that hated the idea of concealed carry. Of course, with "may issue", the only people that were getting permits were the good old boys club and friends of the sheriff. His experience with these priveleged few was that they were idiots waiting to cause an accident. A far cry from what is found in "shall issue" states, where responsible gun ownership is the norm.

Of course, everyone already has a right to carry. So what are you waiting for? Do it.
