A Matter of Convenience

Allowing yourself to be disarmed for the convenience of robbers who don't observe such foolish conventions, that is...
Three Loaf 'N Jug stores and one Kum 'n Go store have been robbed.[More]
Wyoming is pretty good as far as armed citizens are concerned, so I'm wondering if this is due to all-to-typical convenience store employee disarmament policies.

What--did they name their stores after their magazine racks?

The names of such stores are probably the only thing that is able to cause embarrassment to a Wyoming native.

The story was light on details - is there a new law or some such which claims to prevent guns from being carried into such places?

No, not at all, PeaceableGuy. The customers can carry... probably just not the clerks per company policy.

It would seem that nobody but the criminal was armed in these situations. Cheyenne is fast becoming part of Denver, unfortunately, and more businesses prohibit guns there now than ever.

Such a robbery is unlikely in the NE section of the state, as we don't cotton to such nonsense. [big grin]

As MamaLiberty said, the greater Denver Metro area stretches from somewhere down near Pueblo north to Cheyenne. You have the attendant problems of big city Denver (drugs and gangs) moving north up the I-25 cooridor to Cheyenee.

There are Loaf 'N Jugs where I live in SD, as well as my hometown across the state line. Kum 'n Go stores are a uniquely WY flavor and from what I've seen of both, it wouldn't surprise me that they're disarmed by company edict. I have a friend who's a manager of a LNJ, I'll ask him tomorrow what company policy is.

I checked with my friend, the manager of a local Loaf 'N Jug and he says that it's company policy not to allow employees to arm themselves, even if they have a valid CCP.

So to answer your question, they are disarmed by company edict.
