And Then There's Oath Breakers

"My personal opinion is we could tighten up our gun laws," said retired Vice Adm. Roger T. Rufe Jr., director of Homeland Security's Office of Operations Coordination. "We shouldn't be selling assault weapons on the streets." [More]
We've been giving a bit of publicity lately to Oath Keepers, so I thought it would only be fair to give a bit of space to their counterparts, and this fascist liar seemed pretty representative.

And he was appointed during a Republican Administration...

We're the Only Ones Camera-Shy Enough

Police Report Says Priest Wielded Unknown Object; But Cop On Tape Knows It’s A Camera [More]
So in other words, in addition to being an "Only One" thug, someone's also an "Only One" liar.

Hey, Officer David Cari--what would happen if someone brought a camera up to East Haven and followed you--specifically--around. Maybe did a web documentary...?

Got a problem with that?

Alice Doesn't Live Here Any More

Alice Holler, a smoker from the Meyersdale area, said she doesn't have a problem with helping children. But coupled with the state smoking ban, Holler said smokers are being hit too hard. The ban started in September and prohibits smoking in most public places.

“I feel they should start taxing something else instead of cigarettes,” she said while walking along West Main Street in Somerset on Thursday. She suggested levying a tax on alcohol instead.[More]
At least I wish she--and those like her--didn't live here any more.

Don't gore my ox, gore his.

May posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

"Heightened Alertness"

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents seized 10 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition from a southbound pickup truck in Southwestern Arizona on Saturday. On Thursday, CBP officers found rifle barrels, firearm accessories and gun powder in a tractor-trailer attempting to exit the U.S. for Mexico in Pharr, Tex. And on Wednesday, CBP agents in Laredo, Tex., discovered a collection of weapons and ammunition hidden in a second truck destined for Mexico. [More]
Is that an "arsenal" due to the quantity of weapons seized, or a "spate" because there were three seizures?

I'm so confused.

And is it me, or does "heightened alertness" sound like something they'd make fun of George Bush for saying?

Gosh--they're making more noise about this than if they'd seized a Democrat-sanctioned ChiCom ship of full-auto AK-47s...

A lot more noise.

We're the Only Ones Dealing With it Enough

So, why did I abuse the very people I'd been hired to serve? [More]
Uh...because no one made an example of you or your fellow "Only One" abusers?

I still don't see that offered as a solution, nor do I see any movement toward the one you do offer becoming the...uh...norm.

So...uh...Norm--what are your thoughts on citizens carrying firearms--and being able to defend themselves against abusive official goons like you describe? And as someone who "rose" to chief, you no doubt saw it all and know how pervasive it is.

And by the way--did that "principled prosecutor" throw your thuggish ass in jail? If not, how principled could he have really been? Offhand, I'd say "Not very," because you ID yourself as a "retired Seattle police chief," not a fired and convicted one.

Well, we have our answer--from "Breaking Rank," page 69:
"I am an unyielding proponent of gun control--because of what I saw and experienced as a cop."
No doubt.

I'll tell you one thing...uh...Norm--you couldn't have picked a better title for your Huff-Po column.

More on this outrage...

Save it, Lt. Hotz. Simply put, I don't believe you.

Gun Control Not the Answer

Making new laws to limit Americans’ right to bear arms will only make the problem of violent crime even worse. [More]
We know that. It appears that's beyond some of the idiot comment posters, though.

I talked over the weekend about appreciating good "Authorized Journalists." Why not head on over and lend Mr. Schuver some moral and factual support in the "comments" section--right after you let him know you appreciate his giving public voice to this important message...?

We're the Only Ones Walking a Thin Line Enough

According to the Chicago Sun Times, after administering a field sobriety test to Raymond L. Bell, Parker "wrote that Raymond L. Bell lost his balance and used his arms to steady himself." Also, after telling Bell to stand on one foot and count to 30, "Parker marked Bell down for lowering his foot and also for hopping, using his arms for balance and swaying."

But the video shows Bell walking the line without difficulty, and then standing and counting with equal ease. [More]
See, when "Only Ones" DUI, well, that's one thing. But when we say you do, even if you didn't, why that's another...

We're the Only Ones Prenatally Caring Enough

The verdict will be delivered Monday in the case of the off-duty Greece Police officer charged with being impaired by alcohol and cocaine, then leaving the scene of an accident that severely injured a pregnant woman and caused her to deliver early. [More]
Hey, the sooner we prepare the li'l nipper for his proper relationship to "Only Ones"...and don't you love the way Officer Dad stepped in? Not my precious Sonny Boy--besides, he doesn't remember a thing.

The verdict should be in at 2:00 PM EST. I may be out, so someone please feel free to inform us all via "Comments," below.

Obama's Gun Ban List

Here it is, folks, and it is bad news. The framework for legislation is always laid, and the Democrats have the votes to pass anything they want to impose upon us. [More]

We're the Only Ones Big Enough

Critics like Carter say modern-day Mr. Big operations aggressively entrap targets like Unger with threats and the lure of big money as a mobster. Carter notes such stings are illegal in both Britain and the U.S. because they actively induce someone to join a criminal enterprise they would not otherwise have joined. [More]
I'd say our "Only Ones" have figured out enough entrapment workarounds to give the Canadians a run for their money...

DoD Under Obama Squeezes Already Tight Ammo Supply

"An agency of the Department of Defense has just directed that all military fired brass must be destroyed." [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column fleshes out a backdoor attempt to further restrict ammunition at a time when it is already in high demand and short supply.

This is insidious, and your immediate attention is needed.

This Day in History: March 16

We have not more than 40 Horses yet sent in, & neither Saddles nor Bridles have arrived, so that little can be done towards disciplining the Regt at present. We have moreover Lads enough belonging to our different Troops who have had the small pox, to attend the Stables for the present, so that in fact the others can be spared at this Juncture without the least Delay, or Detriment to the Service.
