We're the Only Ones Bursting Your Housing Bubble Enough

The Information charges that Culp purchased inexpensive homes, frequently in need of substantial repair and renovation, and then arranged to sell these properties at inflated amounts to persons who obtained mortgage loans based upon falsified mortgage loan applications.
I guess that means this "Only One" was "culpable"?

Oh stop groaning. You try this.

We're the Fauxnly Ones Enough

New Orleans Police say look out for a man impersonating a police officer -- uniform and all!! He's preying on women and getting bolder by the crime. [More]
Insidious. How are we to know? He not only looks like a Big Easy "Only One," he acts like one, too!

[Via Mama Liberty]

UPDATE: Turns out he really WAS an "Only One" after all! The line gets blurrier.

You cannot make this stuff up.

Laughing here.

Blood Dancers Press for Advantage

Less than a day after Michael McLendon fired his last shot, gun control groups issued press releases that cited his murderous rampage through three Alabama towns as an argument for reviving the federal "assault weapon" ban. [More]
I guess they didn't get the letter.

The Letter

To Eric Holder.

From 65 Democrats.

No new ban.

Let's hope they mean it, and will not be persuaded by future headlines and political incentives or pressures to change their minds. [More]

Illegal Doesn't Mean Unavailable

I looked at him and said, "I thought guns were illegal in Mexico." He chuckled... [More]
And it looks like the cartels might not be relying on gun stores and damned American gun shows?

Gosh--why would anyone lie to us about that?

It's Ridiculous to Suggest

Its ridiculous to suggest that our bill includes any effort to make service a mandatory requirement. [More]
Yeah. What kind of ridiculous agenda-driven liar would suggest that?

Can We Pick and Choose Laws, Too?

Ron Bokleman asks a question I've asked before--if a government official can choose which laws to selectively ignore, can we do it too? [More]

Well, we know the answer I got...

That'll Teach Him to Obey the Rules!

According to a minute entry, Gottsfield concluded that evidence against Iknadosian was not sufficient to support conviction based on a technical legal issue. Because the gun buyers all were eligible to acquire firearms, he said, their deception did not amount to a "material falsification." Consequently, Gottsfield ruled, the evidence did not show felonious conduct by Iknadosian. [More]
So requiring purchasers to submit to required mandated background checks and jumping through all the hoops before completing their transactions is "a technical legal issue"? Y'know, if you're going to get in this much trouble for leaving a record trail of compliance, doesn't that create a powerful incentive to just go off the books altogether?

Hey, I wonder if he could get me some full autos and grenades I hear are all the rage in border area gun stores?

Gosh, all this hoop-de-doo--and when they get a guy, they can't even keep him!

Latest Whiskey Rebellion Casualty

Famed Appalachian moonshiner Marvin "Popcorn" Sutton, whose incorrigible bootlegging ways were as out of step with modern times as his hillbilly beard and overalls, took his own life rather than go to prison for making white lightning, his widow says. [More]
Who did he harm again?

2AMusing thought it was important to emphasize. [More]

I agree. A lot of people did good, and they all deserve to be acknowledged.

Judge Blocks National Parks Gun Rule

Imagine Colleen Kollar-Kotelly and Sarah Brady alone together in the wilderness, having backpacked miles from the nearest ranger facility. Now imagine an immediate threat--one that's been stalking them with deadly intent--confronts them, confident it has the advantage. [More]
It may be hard to imagine this happening to them, but they'll do their damnedest to make sure if it happens to you, you'll be helpless.

Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at the latest national parks ruling. I also link to the latest from my fellow GREs.

Please share it far and wide.
