We're the Only Ones Scandalous Enough

The NPR series Dirty Money revealed how some police agencies abuse a law that allows them to confiscate suspected drug money. The problems continue, but in Texas that might be about to change. A police scandal has added urgency to reform efforts in the statehouse. [More]
But...but...but why would you need to make a change in law if "Only One" corruption is confined to "a few bad apples"...?

Savage on Olofson

Listen to Len Savage and Aaron Zelman on "Talkin' to America" at JPFO. [More]

Also from JPFO, "The Gang" trailer has been flagged at You Tube for "inappropriate content."

Now who would do that, and why?

Fortify This

Mandatory fotification of bread with folic acid would slash the risk of babies being born with a heart problem, experience from Canada shows. [More]
Mandatory.

Because people who make bread for a living aren't smart enough to figure out what the market wants and needs. We need to add coercion backed by the force of the state into the mix.

Because people can't be trusted to make choices about their own nutrition and what goes into their bodies without the state telling them. And woe unto those who try it.

Because if you don't do what we say, we are going to send agents to take you hostage and destroy your life's work. And if you resist, they will kill you. And they may yet anyway, if we decide to do the raid at 3:00 AM, maybe hit the wrong house, but report afterward we believed that cell phone you were dialing the police on was a gun. Then it will all fall into accepted department policy.

Well, hell, if fortifying bread with this chemical is good, fortifying it with others must be better. And if bakeries must make it, you must eat it. Because it's all for what we say is the public good.

Coming soon to this country if the central planners who know what's best for us have their way. No doubt by international treaty.

We're the Only Ones Baffled by that Attitude Enough

York is baffled by that attitude, saying semiautomatic rifles aren't needed for hunting or self-defense.

“It's a weapon of war, not of sport,” York said. “I'm sure it will be a political battle, but the officers are out in the street fighting that battle every day.” [More]
Now see here Pork...uh Yorky, you mudhead. If you're interested in seeing what fighting a battle every day is all about, you just keep this nonsense up. Otherwise shut up and go direct traffic or something.

Fascist "Only One" enforcer.

I also like the companion article title "Helmke strives for middle ground on gun rights, control." They don't even try to mask the lies.

That Evan Goodenow and the News-Sentinel are quite the little "Authorized Journalist" fascist lickspittles, are they not?

Iowa Mall Terror Prompts Lockdown!

Shoppers at the Mall of the Bluffs Tuesday ducked inside back rooms and U.S. Marshals scrambled to the roof with guns drawn after people called police to report a man with a gun inside the mall.

The man was carrying an umbrella. [More]
I couldn't find a code of conduct for the mall online, possibly because, Iowa being a "may issue" state, the practice of carrying firearms is not prevalent enough for the mall to post prohibitions against...? Anyone from around there, please weigh in if you know something.

How do you think hysterical cud-chewers like this are going to vote when they hear someone tell them we need to ban "assault weapons"?

Add to this indictment of too many of our countrymen a crippling timidity of soul:
These are the heirs of liberty, beneficiaries of ultimate and terrible sacrifices from men who pledged their lives, fortunes and scared honor. They have squandered an inheritance won through blood, powder and steel, and their shameful ignorance empowers further erosion of all our liberties.
Enemies foreign and domestic must laugh at such knee-jerk cowardice. There can be no respect for--and no fear of--that which is on its face contemptible.

It's why the Founders knew a militia from the whole people was necessary to the security of a free state. Which explains why enemies are intent on seeing that concept disparaged and destroyed.

Our preoccupied-with-consumption/fatted calf culture no doubt heartens them tremendously.

The Mexican 'Dog and Pony Show' on Guns

"A big game."

One where the stakes could not be higher. And one where our opponents are professional hustlers.

No wonder they want to cheat us out of our guns. [More]
Tired of being conned? Angered by the outright fraud? Curious as to why the "mainstream media" is absolutely not going to tell you this?

I know WarOnGuns regulars know the answer to that one full well. Others do not.

It's up to us, folk. If you want the information in today's Gun Rights Examiner column known, share it. Otherwise, it will stay buried, the government will continue to press for US gun bans based on Mexican corruption, and the networks and newspapers will cheerlead them every step of the way.

This Day in History: May 13

I have just now learned from General Mifflin that your Excellency intends to take the field in a few days. I hope your Excellency will excuse the liberty I am about to take in Suggesting that your troops will probably suffer from being so early exposed in an encampment. The variable weather of the Spring and fall have always been found much more destructive to the health of an Army than the uniform heats of Summer or colds of Winter. [More]
