Oregon Alert

I had a busier-than-hell weekend, which explains the no posting. Anyway, I missed this alert from Oregon Firearms Federation in my inbox when I posted today's GRE.
Although the "special" session does not start until February, the Oregon legislature has already scheduled a "work session" on a "legislative concept" to reverse gains made in the 2009 session.
Go to the OFF site to find out how, and pass their link to all your friends in Oregon.

They want to enable someone who is convicted of a cheap-shot felony, such as possession of the wrong sized lobster, to petition (That's "beg", for those of you in Rio Linda.) to get his 2A rights restored. Although this breaks the outright ban, it still gives the power to deny to aboard that is likely to be hostile to gun rights.

I don't see a particularly large gain for our side here, whether it's taken from us or not.

Well it ain't perfect. But at least there's a possibility now. If this thing passes, that vanishes. We're trying to help people The alternative is to sit on the sidelines and bitch.
