Don't Mistake Lack of Trying...

...for lack of desire. [More]

The direct approach ain't working.

Don't relax though--he still has EOs, treaties and national disasters in his options toolkit. Not to mention the potential for a convenient high-profile event...

Remember, one of his Bitches in Heat, Fienstein, has promised "we will pick the time" and so on. I think they're looking for some way to finesse it, although G*d knows, finesse is not really in their toolbag. Whatever they do, it's certain to be odious. But whatever stink they bring, it'll be nothing compared to the stink they start.

he doesn't need to do anything about guns. the executive alone now has the precedent to do anything it likes to american citizens as soon as they're suspected of terrorism. gun control is small-fry, wishy-washy internationalist sentiment, now. expect a flood of nationalism as elections turn the tables this year and in 2012. it'll be all of this, times ten.

and you can thank red state fascism for most of that, but don't forget the blue dogs and clintonista hawks. from that article: "My own take is this: the Republican takeover of the presidency combined with an unrelenting state of war, has supplied all the levers necessary to convert a burgeoning libertarian movement into a statist one." lew is on point, once again. seen the tea party statement of beliefs lately? "limited government, huge fuck-off military!" yeah. good luck with that. here's an econ 101 book. let me know when you're done burning it.

Convenient high-profile event? Like when Soros tumbles to how lousy the return on his investment is gonna be?

David,

I read the same article yesterday, and had the same thoughts. Chapman seems to be one of those "token conservatives" who write for the MSM. I don't take too much of what he writes seriously anymore.
