Just When I Was Really Having Fun Ridiculing Sarah Brady Paradise...

The birthplace of Francis Marion turns out to be every bit as ridiculous. [Read]

"Subversive registration."

Good grief.

What is wrong with the legislative mind?

I feel like registering and telling them I believe in overthrowing and institutionalizing anyone who would enact such an absurd requirement--and to send someone to come pick up the five bucks.

It's all about piling on the charges and the penalties...I'd sign up but I'm on enough lists already.

Don't dare mention this to the knuckleheads in the Texas lege, they've been busy enough creating new crimes.

I think I'm going to send them a form and MO:
Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Sam Adams, Patrick Henry...

And a copy of a highlighted Declaration of Independence.

It is a violation of the 5th Amendment.

I'm not sure weather to laugh or cry. They should write a law all muggers and rapists must notify their intended victims 5 days prior to the event with the time specified or face a surcharge! I personally would have to think long and hard before letting any govagency hold my feet to the fire. I don't think I could bear being fitcher or olofson.

Oh, I don't know... some people might fall for it. Look how many willingly stick their neck in a noose by filling out an income tax report.

But yes, hard to believe...

Having lived in S.C. for five years, you kind of have to understand the mind-set. When the govt. does something, then that is supposed to have taken care of the problem. They tend to take a re-active position on most things, and wait n' see what will happen when they do finally move on it. Politicians there really believe in their hearts that what they do, and say and legislate, is really what's needed, without going over it in a logical way. And I have never lived anywhere in the world where there are so many thieves and con-artists.

Perhaps a public service is in order. Maybe someone local can register the Federal government on behalf, for staging a coup d'etat of the quaint and unrecognizable country described in the charter document of same. If that's not "subversive", what is?
