Weapon of Choice

Authorities say Eastwood used a bolt-action, high-powered rifle. [More]
Y'hear that, Fudds?

Once that bus you throw them under runs over the EBR guys, guess whose turn in the barrel it becomes?

Some seem to have forgotten it was a Carcano advertised for hunting that was exploited to restart the slide after decades of silence...

See http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35557049/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/ for further information and video.
"Eastwood has an arrest record in Colorado dating back to 1996 for menacing, assault, domestic violence and driving under the influence, and he is believed to have a history of mental issues."
No kidding. So this comes as a surprise to anyone?
What does come as a surprise is the teacher that ran to the sound of the gunfire and did something about it instead of cowering in fear, waiting for the police to do something, possibly an hour later. Maybe the Columbine (which is nearby)experience is having an effect.

According to this - http://www.9news.com/news/article.aspx?storyid=133343&catid=339 - Bruco Eastwood used his father's stolen Winchester 30/06 rifle to shoot children.

Guess what Fudds - your "sniper assault rifles" are now in the crosshairs of the antis.

Boy, I used to live about 5m north of there and have lots of friends in the area. It'll be interesting to see how this story "is developed" (you know, kinda like people "are disappeared"...).

David's linked article is my first read on the matter. Anyone hear any technical details? It sounds like the guy was seriously incompetent--the girl was supposedly hit with a 30/06 at close range and was "treated and released"? The boy sounds a little worse off but that sounds like some (thankfully) miserable shooting.

At least (if we can believe the reports) it sounds like a couple of people acquitted themselves as best they could--bein' in a Gun Free Zone and all. It would of course have been better if even one of 'em had shown the same respect for that rule that the aggressor did--but I'll take attitude over equipment any day.
