We're the Only Ones Not Feeling Your Pain Enough

The recession and the ongoing jobless recovery devastated much of the private-sector work force last year, sending unemployment soaring, but government workers emerged essentially unscathed, according to data released Wednesday by the Labor Department.

Meanwhile, the compensation for state and local government employees continued to easily outdistance the wages and benefits for workers in private business, a separate Labor Department report showed. [More]

rampant crime under color of law, same as the rest of all history.

i hear they're paying $16-20/hr for census takers, now. they reimburse your mileage, too.

jon, The census takers earn their money when they talk to me. I ignore the mailed questionaire and refuse to answer most of the questions when the census taker comes to visit.

The Israelites were warned about the census, kings, and government employees many years ago. They didn't pay any attention then and most folks don't pay attention today.

History tells us that the brigands who serve the current warlord always eat pretty well.

If the private sector wasn't underpaying huge sums of common workers, government pay wouldn't be as far out of proportion.
