Keeping Us Safe

In fact, more air marshals have been arrested than the number of people arrested by air marshals.

...They are averaging slightly over four arrests each year by the entire agency. In other words, we are spending approximately $200 million per arrest. Let me repeat that: we are spending approximately $200 million per arrest. [More]
I can't wait for them to keep us healthy.

"He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance."

Jeepers, why does that sentence come to mind?

The sad part of it all is that--no offense to Duncan, who at least is crying BS--if any attention is ever paid to this, it will be used as a call to simply make more arrests.

The state needs "criminals" to feed its enforcers, and for thousands of years it has, absent a ready supply, simply manufactured them.

I think the whole idea of Air Marshalls is not to arrest every drunk idiot that causes a scene but to stand up when a jihadi screams "lets all go to paradise" and put a hole in his head.

We all know that are more cost effective ways to have responsible armed individuals on airplanes. How about screening applicants and awarding a free round trip flight in exchange for armed duty on the flight?
